My Whole30 Recap
Pop open a bottle of a wine and bring me some tiramisu, my experience with The Whole30 is over! That.was.intense.

I'm so proud of myself. This time last year, I probably would've quit by the 3rd or 4th day. For me, the first 3 or 4 days were the hardest. My body was detoxing itself off of 26 years of processed food!! I was bitchy and all I wanted was a damn chocolate milkshake or some sort of carb.
After the 4th day, the cravings went away for the most part...except at night. My body wanted something sweet {& unhealthy} so bad. I would drink so much water, I was literally sprinting to the bathroom in the middle of the night. But I never gave in to my cravings. By this time though, my head is more clear, I'm sleeping amazing {other than having to pee}, I'm not moody, and my skin is starting to clear up.
All of a sudden, on the 15th day, it was like the gates of Heaven opened up. I woke up that day in an awesome mood. I looked at my calendar and realized it was the 15th day. I was half way there. I was like the little engine that could singing "I think I can, I think I can, I know I can!" Also, by this day, the weight is just melting off. I have to admit, I lurved watching that number go down.
This last week has been a little difficult for me. Not the eating part but I'm just not sure what to introduce my body back on. I told The Hub's it I felt like I was breaking the law if I ate a grain. I know I shouldn't feel like that. I feel like that sounds boarder-line eating disorder or something... So, I guess it's just slowing introducing things and seeing how my body reacts. I don't want to deprive myself but I don't want to feel that I'm entitled to eat that cupcake "because I busted my ass in crossfit". I don't workout so I can eat. I workout so I can get strong. Cupcakes don't make you strong. {It'd be nice if they did} Finding a happy medium is what is going to be the most difficult part of the challenge.
Now, I know why y'all all are all here...y'all want to know how much weight I lost. Well, ladies and gents, here are the numbers:
-January 5th starting weight: 154
-February 22nd ending weight: 141
Total lost on Whole30: 13 lbs!
I'd say that's pretty decent and considering I have not seen the 140's {for longer than an hour in the morning time} since I was pregnant, I'm a happy camper.

Last night while I was dicking around on Pinterest, I was thinking about questions I would ask myself if I was someone who was interested in The Whole30. Here are a few {and if you have any, please comment or email me!!}
1. Would you do The Whole30 again?
Abso-freaking-loutly.
2. What would you do differently?
I would be more prepared. I didn't really know what to expect with this, so I just basically jumped in without preparing. Next time, I will prepare a menu for the entire month and even try making freezer meals. It would make things so much easier. I'll also read the book before doing it again.
3. Did really change the way you think about food?
Yes! I could never believe that dairy, grains, or beans could be the reason for some of my problems. I mean there supposed to be healthy, right? And for the most part they are. It's just you've got to figure out what your body can handle. Everybody is different. Dairy may have no effect on you but I already know that it makes me bloated and my tummy hurt. Grains may not affect me {too much} while they give you a headache and a sugar rush.
If you're thinking about jumping on The Whole30 train here are few sites that I suggest visiting:
Whole9
Today's Letters
Whole Family Strong
Grit and Glamour
These are just a few sites that have Whole30 info on them but if you go to Pinterest and search Whole30 you can find so many more!
Now, I need y'all to go give some blog lovin' to a new mama blogger, Halee Dawn. She is a mama of 3 on the weightloss train. I love the vintage vibe of her blog... and her name. I've already told her that and she probably thinks I'm a creeper. Oh well, she's totally not the first!
Y'all have an amazing weekend!!

Way to go! I start my Whole30 on March 1st. I am a little nervous and scared to go away from counting calories, but also excited at the prospect of it being liberating.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Hey Shelly! Congrats on finishing your journey! You have convinced me that I need to try this Whole30 thing. I have horrible cravings of sweet and carb-filled foods...so I think this could definitely be a good option. And my mood sucks 99% of the time :)
And I don't think you're a creeper, haha!! Thanks for mentioning me in your post today! :)
